The Canadian Students Visa allows foreign students who are enrolled at a post-secondary institution in Canada to stay in Canada for up to 12 months. The visa is valid for one year, and can be extended for an additional 12 months if necessary.
There are two types of student visas for Canadian students:
-Type C: for those who want to study full-time at a Canadian school
-Type D: for those who want to study part-time at a Canadian school
To apply for a Canadian student visa, you’ll have to submit the following documents with your application:
1. A completed application form (available online)
2. Proof of financial support from your home country or country of residence (if you’re not a citizen of Canada)
3. Two photographs; one passport-style photo, and one recent passport photo
4. Your passport, if you’re applying from outside Canada; an official document confirming that you’re currently enrolled in an approved program of study; proof that you pay tuition fees; and proof that your schooling is accredited by an agency recognized by the government (this will be on your letter from your school’s administration). If none of these documents are available, they can be submitted later once they become available and approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).
